Situated in one of the most beautiful nature areas of the Guadalhorce Valley, 15 minutes away from Málaga and 30 minutes from Marbella, some of the crocs here weigh more than 450 kilos and are 60 plus years old.

Invariably you will be able to view numerous examples of this reptile from newly-laid eggs up to some truly heavyweight monsters. MIJAS PARK is the other main water park on the coast and is located along the main road heading towards Fuengirola. Open from 10:30 hrs to 18:00 hrs with a discount for people who arrive after 15:00 hrs, as well as free entrance for children under the age of four and other special rates for parties and season tickets.

Facilities include self-service restaurant, changing rooms, safety deposit boxes, gift shop, floats and a picnic area.

Just remember if you are planning on spending the day at the aqua park, bring along plenty of suntan lotion.

This theme park, located in Estepona along the main road, combines a water park with other attractions such as Mini Golf, Football, TV Room, Shooting Gallery, Basket Ball and Remote Control Lorries.

There is also a restaurant, bar, parking and facilities for the disabled. Prado World also caters for birthday parties and there is a picnic area if you want to cook your own food.

SEA LIFE is located in Benalmádena Port (30 Km from Marbella).  The 'Danger in the Reefs' exhibition here allows you to experience the ocean's most deadly creatures, ranging from the Blue Ring Octupus, capable of killing a person in 20 seconds, to the comical Puffer Fish which is only fatal if you are foolish enough to eat it!.

This is a great one to take the kids to, they will love it.  Loads of local and more exotic Mediterranean wildlife, sharks, rays, eels and more.  The underwater passage is always popular and there is a great deal to look at and learn.

SELWO is a nature park unique in Europe where animals of the five continents coexist in semiwild conditions.  The park is divided into several zones, each of which features a variety of different animals. The first area you will encounter is the lagoon which is populated by exotic birds, including some colorful flamingos. Nearby are habitats suitable for birds and monkeys.

One of the park's most striking man-made features is the bird canyon, a massive enclosed area of hills and plants, within which more than 40 different species of birds live freely.

A great part of the circuit is made in all-terrain trucks, although there is lots to see on foot, so I recommend you to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.  Also there is limited shade so summer visitors should remember to bring along a hat and sun cream.

The Park has restaurants, shops, parking and much more services and facilities.

This park lives up to its name, with many types of snake on display, along with related reptiles, such as turtles. A regular show allows visitors the opportunity to participate and hold a selection of nasties, from pythons to tarantulas.

TIVOLI WORLD is an amusement park located in Arroyo de la Miel, just 2 kms from the Benalmádena Costa.  There are various rides as well as a tiny tots section, restaurants, bars and a professional calibre programme of concerts mainly by Spanish performers, as well as some 'lookalike' stars.

Recent additions to the park include Tivolilandia and Tivoli Agua; the former is an infant area with 11 rides and other attractions specially adapted for very small children and babies; the latter is a water mountain flume ride which has proved very popular.

AQUAPARK TORREMOLINOS, located 50 Km from Marbella, along the main coast road, is said to be the largest aquapark in Europe covering more than 70,000 square metres.  Rides here include the hair-raising kamicaze twister and several near vertical slides, together with a tiny tots area, waves swimming pool and even a Jucuzzi.
