Aroma Restaurante has been open for nearly
three years and in that time has established
itself as one of the premier dining
establishments in Fuengirola and is located in
the world famous eating area known as Fish
Alley. John and Roque have both been in Spain
for over 20 years. John originates from
Scotland and Roque from Argentina. When they
took over the premises it was nothing but an
empty shell but has been transformed over the
last three years into a restaurant that has a
feel of elegance and style throughout. Aroma
seats 60 people inside, 20 outside and are
open 7 days a week from 6.30 in the evening.
The quality of the food is equalled only by
its presentation, which in all honesty is best
appreciated first hand. But you
could be forgiven for wanting to take your
meal home and frame it rather than eat it!!!
Such is the standard of presentation at Aroma.
Variety also is a main feature of Aroma's
menu, for example, you can choose popular
starters such as pate, homemade soup or garlic
bread but if you are feeling a little more
adventurous you can choose from Ostrich
Carpaccio, Lobster “Café de Paris” or Fried
Brie plus many other exciting dishes.

With fabulous murals on the walls, including
one copied from an original still from the
classic film, The good, the bad and the ugly
and typical Mexican music you can sample some
truly authentic Mexican/Texan cooking in a
most welcoming environment. Thomas and Helena
are from Ballymena, Eire where they ran a
successful coffee shop in the heart of Dublin.
When they took over the premises it was
already established as TEXMEX restaurant after
previously being a nightclub. The building has
been completely refurbished, given a whole new
identity and has now been open for 18 months,
quickly establishing itself as a quality
alternative to places you might otherwise
frequent.
The menu is original and offers a wide variety
of Mexican and Texan cuisine. There is
an alternative menu available for the not so
adventurous, such as potato skins loaded with
bacon pieces covered with a delicious cheese
sauce or corn on the cob and barbequed corn
cob pieces smothered with melted butter.

Although it's already become
an institution for diners along the Costa del Sol, Max Beach was founded just
less than two years ago by husband and wife team, Carl Creemers and Martine
Deshcamps. Max Beach (named after their loyal dog Max) has a seating capacity of
over 350. The grand outdoor dining beach club (cooled by special machines which
lower the temperature by quite a few degrees) right on the beachfront, boasts a
dining area that leads off into a lounge area with a chiringuito bar, chic
lounge tables covered by sunshades and two Jacuzzis. The lounge area is usually
completely filled with diners and cocktail lovers at night, while the indoor
area, more popular in the winter months, is composed of a large bar, a cosy
fireplace and a dining area. The kitchen is consisting of a young team of chefs,
and the underground storage area is impressive.
The cuisine, whipped up by Chef Alex Lambert, has undergone some changes since
Max Beach first opened. You will not find chiringuito cuisine here, but creative
cuisine with Belgian-French and fusion influences. The menu will change every
two or three weeks, to ensure that diners' palates are constantly surprised by
the fresh flavours. Max Beach neatly reflects the current high expectations of
Costa del Sol diners. Good weather, proximity to the sea and island-style
ambience is no longer enough: when dining by the sea.

This is a lovely intimate Indian restaurant close
to the Dona Lola Resort, just opposite the El Zoco shopping area in Calahonda.
The service is fabulous -- attentive but not intrusive. The food is wonderful
with a great choice of dishes for all tastes and generous portions. The bar was
well stocked.
The prices were excellent. It was a lovely quiet evening out in a very nice
atmosphere. This is a popular restaurant so on a busy night and at weekends, it
would certainly be worth booking in advance.

Although there are many appetising Chinese dishes on offer, Akira Fuji
specialises in Japanese cuisine. The owner/chef has worked in many top
Japanese hotels and his sushi is as good as any you will find but at a fraction
of the cost. From the exotic to the more recognisable salmon and tuna,
everything is very fresh. Highly recommended is the sashimi, California
